Every story starts somewhere. Ours began with a lorry, a newborn, and a Classic Mini Cooper. Twenty-eight years ago, life looked very different.

Days were spent behind the wheel of a lorry, nights in lay-bys, and weeks away from home. It paid the bills, but it cost moments that can’t be replayed — the kind new parents shouldn’t have to miss.

When that tiny pair of hands turned one, something shifted. The road had been long enough. It was time to come home and start building something that made sense.

A Change of Gears

Before life on the road, there had been oil, engines and overalls — I trained as a mechanic straight from college and was at my happiest under a bonnet.

So the next step felt natural: go back to what sparked joy in the first place — Classic Mini Coopers.

They were rebuilt one by one, each one finished with care and character. Those little cars went off to new owners who still send photos years later. Most of them are still running, still cherished, and still a source of pride.

An Unexpected Detour Into Antiques

One afternoon, while collecting a batch of Mini spares from a gentleman who was downsizing, a casual question changed everything:

“Do you like antiques?”

It turned out — yes, quite a lot.

Memories of weekends wandering through Winterton Selling Centre came flooding back: polished brass, old teacups and family stories in every corner.

A deal was struck, the spares were loaded… and so were the antiques.That was the moment the journey took a completely different road.

Fifteen Years of Treasure Hunting

What began as curiosity turned into a passion — buying, selling, restoring and learning.The world of antiques opened up a whole new way of life for our family.

Car boots. Auctions. Barn finds. People’s attics full of forgotten history.Every day brought something different.
